OHMIRIS did not begin with a product catalogue. It began with a question: how can engineering help people understand critical situations earlier and more clearly?
The OHMIRIS story is not a claim that the journey is complete. It is the account of building an engineering organisation with technical discipline, precise communication and the ambition to earn trust through work that can be demonstrated.
THE STARTING POINT
Talat Göktuğ Dere began studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2020. In 2022, while still at university, he began working in the military electro-optics field. Early exposure to real observation systems showed him that technical performance matters only when it becomes dependable in a decision environment.
THE CONVICTION
In complex operational environments, situational awareness is not a supporting feature. Recognising and correctly interpreting a situation first creates valuable time. But seeing alone is not enough: image quality, context, reliability and a clear operator presentation must be engineered as one connected system.
THE FOUNDING
OHMIRIS grew from that conviction. The company brings electro-optics, electronics, embedded systems, software, image processing and system integration together around one objective: turning demanding observation challenges into disciplined, traceable engineering solutions.
THE NAME
OHM refers to the unit of electrical resistance and to a first principle of electrical engineering. IRIS points to the eye and to the controlled use of light in optics. Together, the name connects electronics with seeing. Its sound also echoes Osiris, the ancient Egyptian figure associated with the afterlife and renewal. The origin of OHMIRIS, however, is deliberately technical.
THE TEAM
An idea becomes a credible undertaking when the right people come together. As a team took shape around technical care and a shared view of observation, the original conviction became OHMIRIS. ARGUS grew from that collective work and continues to be developed as a team effort.
THE FIRST DIRECTION
ARGUS embodies this direction as an electro-optical observation concept for the lower airspace. The name recalls Argus Panoptes, the many-eyed watchman of Greek mythology, often described in classical accounts as having one hundred eyes. For OHMIRIS, it is a reference to attentive observation, not a performance claim. The development path remains transparent: completed design work, active simulation and validation, and the next steps toward integrated hardware are clearly distinguished.
TECHNICAL FOUNDATION
The perspective behind OHMIRIS is grounded in practical hardware development: high-reliability PCB design, power electronics, high-speed communications, signal integrity, EMI/EMC and validation. Ongoing postgraduate study in Software Engineering extends that foundation beyond hardware.
